Mi-chan Musings and Dolpa Excitement

As Dolpa gets closer and closer, I get more and more excited! It’s amazing to think that it’s only about a week and a half away~ ♥ I wish I had more spending money, but since I’m not buying another doll I’m not really all that concerned. I should have enough for new clothes and such for my girl. Even if I can’t get everything that catches my eye, it won’t be the end of the world! I don’t need to own these things, really. They’re just fun. Nothing ever entices me with as strong of a hold as, say, lolita fashion. And this is nothing compared to my My Little Pony sprint a few years ago. That was madness! Volks USA Review

It’s official–I love ordering from Volks USA! Their process is so well-automated and smooth. I like the automated emails, easy to understand shopping cart system, and the way tracking is integrated into the order status. It’s never a hassle, but whenever I have had to contact the company directly they’re so polite and prompt. Continue reading »

Nono’s Treasure Chest

My constant yearning for a Volks Super Dollfie Nono isn’t merely a sigh, a dream, and a fond glance. I am certain that eventually I will buy one of these lovely dolls…especially because I have started doing something it is not a very good thing to do. I’m amassing. Little by little, I’m purchasing things that aren’t suited for Claire and weren’t suited for Claudia–things that are perfect for a Volks Super Dollfie girl. Continue reading »

Dolpa Registration–Mi-chan Selected!

I finally registered for VolksDoll’s Party in New York 4! It took me forever to make up my mind. I was starting to worry that I would miss the deadline and wind up in New York without actually being able to attend. (Although there’s still a chance that the tickets will have to be a lottery, so I am hoping that doesn’t happen so no-one who registered will have to miss out on the event.) I kept waffling between taking the workshop, not taking the workshop, taking the workshop and getting a doll, taking the workshop and getting a head, taking the workshop and not buying the materials for it, and so forth endlessly on and on! My poor husband bore the brunt of this indecision, but he tried his fuzzy-bunny-best to help me out. ♥ I think it would have been much rougher without his input. Continue reading »

NYC Dolpa 4

I can’t stop thinking about the NYC Dolls’ Party. The tickets go on sale this weekend, and oh-my-goodness-goodness I really want to go. More than I’ve wanted to attend anything…except for Toy Fair, which I will never go to because I don’t work in the industry. ;_____; *sniffle* This at least I wouldn’t have to pull strings to get a ticket for. Here Comes Christmas

I really want to be contented and have a doll I can enjoy.) It was nice that I didn’t have to spoil her all on my own, though!

When it comes to Christmas presents, my mother is a let-me-find-the-perfect-thing-with-hard-work-and-love kind of giver, while my father is a tell-me-what-you-want-and-where-to-buy-it kind of giver. This means that I never really know what I’m getting from my mother, regardless of hints I might drop, but that I better not tell her what I’ve outlined for my father, or I risk duplicates. However, items requested from my father are not 100% set in stone–sometimes he likes to try his hand at getting creative while other times the items in question are out of stock and he substitutes. This year, I asked my father for some items from Volks USA–the website is easy to order from, so I knew it wouldn’t be too much of a problem as long as things were still in stock. Continue reading »

Spoiled Little Doll

Claire has been with us for only about a week at this point, and I just can’t keep myself from spoiling her! I like knowing that I can dress her up in whatever I think is cute and she won’t complain or ruin her clothes. I’ve been hearing some suggestions that wanting a doll that’s like a little girl is like wanting a child, but that couldn’t be further from the truth! Continue reading »

Volks USA Review

On the evening of Sunday, November 8, I placed an order with Volks USA for several restringing supplies, an MSD-sized wig, and an MSD-sized dress.

Everything went well during check out process, but when I woke up on Monday morning I realized that I had forgotten to ask for any of the Super Dollfie instructional manga in the comments field. I emailed Volks USA Monday morning and asked if they would be able to include the relevant manga in my package. I promptly received a reply acknowledging my request and stating that the pamphlets would be added to my order. Continue reading »
